Parking is available at the Habsheim train station car park.
(S/E) From the car park, cross the road carefully (it can be very busy) and turn left towards the village. Just after the "Habsheim Gare" bus stop, turn right onto Rue de l'Alsbourg (later Rue du Château) and walk uphill until you leave the tarmac road and take a path, until you reach the junction with a marked path.
(1) Follow the green ring markings on the right. Then, at the first junction, after a few hundred metres, take the path on the left towards Bellevue.
(2) Now follow the green cross markings. Pass in front of an apiary. Further on, ignore the path that descends to the right. Then turn left (the path that goes straight ahead is a dead end that leads to a farm) and immediately right, along the vineyards. Walk along the left side of the farm. Just after the farm, go down to the right to walk along the back. This grassy path then makes two successive S-bends before leading to a dirt track.
(3) When you reach this intersection, follow the red diamond markings. Turn left towards Zimmersheim. You will soon reach a crossroads with a bench and a calvary. Continue straight ahead, still heading towards Zimmersheim. This path becomes a trail and passes through a small wood at the top of Ristel hill. Keep going in the same direction until you reach a crossroads at the entrance to the village of Zimmersheim.
(4) Leave Rue de la Carrière on your left and pass in front of house no. 39 on Rue de Rixheim. Then ignore Rue des Noyers, Chemin du Gypsweg and Rue de Habsheim. Continue along Rue de Rixheim, which turns left. Go to the roundabout (Place du Général de Gaulle).
(5) Now follow the yellow cross markings. At the roundabout, turn left onto Rue d'Eschentzwiller. Further on, just after the "Courtine" bus stop, opposite the cemetery and the stadium, take Chemin du Ruisseau on your right. This path climbs up to a crossroads. Turn right. After passing a housing estate in the village, you will come to a crossroads.
(6) Turn left onto a main road (be careful, there is no pavement for about 50 metres) and leave it very quickly by taking a dead-end road straight ahead (Chemin de Dietwiller). Then cross over the small Mühlbach stream, near a large house (the Neumühle). Then take thethird road on the right, which climbs and leads to the west side of Eschentzwiller at a T-junction.
(7) Turn left onto Rue de Bruebach. From here, follow the red triangle markings. Rue de Bruebach gives way to Grand'Rue. At the end of this street, pass in front of the village hall and its fountain. Continue along Vieille Rue. About 200 metres further on, watch out for a small, inconspicuous street on the left: Rue de Laparade, at number 27.
(8) Now follow the yellow and white rectangle markings. At the end of Rue de Laparade, cross Rue des Violettes and take the path opposite, which ends with a few steps on Rue de Habsheim. Turn left. Then, just before the roundabout, take the path that turns right (towards Habsheim-Centre). Cross the Mühlbach again as you leave the village and you will come to a crossroads.
(9) At this crossroads, continue to follow the clearly marked yellow and white rectangle signs, turning right (towards Habsheim-Église) and then left for thefirst time. After that, ignore thefirst path (marked with a green ring) and take the next one, a few hundred metres further on, on the right. You will then come to an X-shaped crossroads.
(10) Continue straight ahead heading north. Immediately after this, take the path on the left and ignore the one marked with a blue cross. This path continues until it reaches Habsheim at the Résidence Bellevue. After the residence, at the crossroads, go down to the right until you reach thesecond street on the left, Rue du Petit Vignoble.
(11) For the last part of the walk, there are no more markings. Take Rue du Petit Vignoble. After the right-hand bend, turn left onto Rue de la Montagne. At the end of this street (about 700 m), you will find Rue de l'Alsbourg, which you used on the way there, and then, on the left, the main Route d'Habsheim. The SNCF train station and its car park are 200 m away on the left (S/E).
