Start at Place de l'Hôtel de Ville, in Méréville (a town near the section of the N20 road between Angerville and Étampes). Parking is available either in the car park along Avenue de la République (no parking on Fridays from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.) or on Promenade Jean-Jaurès.
No signposts
(S/E) With your back to the entrance gate of the Domaine de Méréville, take the Promenade Jean-Jaurès opposite, leaving the Town Hall on your left. Cross one street, leave the war memorial on your right and continue straight ahead on Rue Carnot. Walk up to the church.
Yellow and blue signposts
(1) Cross Place Saint-Père, leaving the church on your left, and follow Rue Charles Lefèvre downhill towards the Maison du Cresson. At the bottom, turn right onto Rue de Renonval. At the next crossroads, turn left onto Rue de la Sente Manicroche and after a few metres, turn right onto a path that is initially tarmac and then grassy. Walk between garden fences and, at the end, follow the street to the right.
After about 50 metres (old well), turn left at an acute angle onto Rue des Moulins. After crossing Chemin des Lavandières coming from the right, take a sharp right turn, still on Rue des Moulins.
No signposts
(2) At the end of the bend, continue straight ahead on Chemin de la Daubette (small tarmac road) towards Maison du Cresson (ignore the signpost on the left). Keep the fish farm ponds on your left and climb gently. Ignore a path that branches off to the right towards some houses on higher ground and turn left with the road. Keep the watercress beds on your left and you will arrive at the Maison du Cresson.
(3) Continue on the tarmac road, passing greenhouses and watercress beds on your left, then turn right. At the T-junction, turn left. At the next fork (municipal sign), go right. Cross Impasse des Noisetiers on your left and immediately turn left into Impasse du Moulin de Courcelles.
(4) Cross the Juine (old mill and wash house on the left) and, at the end of the bridge, turn right onto a path that quickly becomes grassy. Follow the river on your right and the watercress beds on your left. At the end of the beds, leave the river and enter a wood.

(5) At a three-way junction, turn left and follow theGRP® des Vallées de l'Essonne. Alternate between passages in the undergrowth and along the edge of watercress beds (on the left). At the next three-way junction (elevation 93), follow the path on the right for about 50 metres.

(9) Turn left onto a path closed to motor vehicles. Walk along a watercress bed on your left and continue through the woods. Walk along the Juine river on your left and note the greenhouses and watercress beds you saw on the way there. After a wooden barrier, climb up and rejoin the tarmac road.
(6) At the T-junction, follow Rue des Moulins to the right and, after a few metres, turn left into Rue des Grenouillères.

At number 202, descend to the left onto Chemin des Cressonnières. Walk past a few houses and fences. Ignore a path on the left leading to a watercress bed, then another path on the right into a wood at the corner of a house. Continue past more watercress beds on your left and continue into the wood. Return to the tarmac and climb a steep slope.

At the top, you will come to a road. Follow it to the left and downhill.
(7) At the end, follow the D18 to the left and cross the Juine (wash house). Note the wall of the Domaine départemental de Méréville on the other side and walk along a wall on the right. At the fork, cross the road at the pedestrian crossing and follow Rue Curie towards the market halls. Take thefirst road on the right, Rue Danton, which leads to a square at the foot of the imposing old market halls.
Go around the market halls on the right. At the bottom of a very short descent, turn right, pass in front of the entrance gate to the Domaine de Méréville and turn left onto Rue Voltaire (you can shorten this small loop by taking the narrow path opposite). At the end of the street, follow Rue Pasteur to the right and you will come out at Place de l'Hôtel de Ville (S/E).
