The woods around Notre-Dame de Lorette from Aix-Noulette

This walk, starting from the community hall next to the town hall, alternates between town and woodland with a lovely climb and a descent that is well worth the detour but should be avoided after heavy rain.

Description of the walk

Start from the community hall next to the town hall. There is a car park opposite on the church square.

(S/E) Leave the hall and head left to join Rue Piltebois. Turn left, at the end follow the D165 to the right and, after the Résidence Jean Monet, make the first turn left then right and continue straight on along Grande Ruelle.

(1) At the school, turn left onto the small path and continue straight on. At the T-junction, turn left and keep going until you reach the Allée des Jonquilles, a side street.

(2) Follow it to the left. At the roundabout, take the first road on the right, Rue de la Chapelle. At the junction, continue straight ahead onto Rue du Pré. Then enter the Bois Raumioux.

(3) Go straight ahead, then cross Chemin du Roi d'Angleterre and continue straight on. Cross the D58E3 and continue straight on.

(4) Turn right at the junction and keep going straight on.

(5) At the fork in the road just past the power line, keep right and continue straight ahead.

(6) Turn right onto Rue de la Vallée de l'Église and continue straight ahead.

(7) At the end, go down to the left and continue along the road. In the bend, turn right and, at the end again, go right.

(8) Take the second path on the left. At the four-way crossroads, turn right and continue straight ahead.

(9) Once at the top, first turn right then left and head straight ahead.

(10) At La Couture, turn left onto the track, then take the second road on the left and continue straight ahead.

(11) At the crossroads, turn right. At the Fork in the road, keep left, then at the four-way crossroads, turn right.

(12) Turn left at the next Fork in the road. At the end, turn left onto the footpath and continue straight ahead.

(13) Turn left onto Grande Ruelle, then cross the road and continue straight ahead. At the end, turn right onto Rue René Delsaut and continue straight ahead.

(14) When you reach Rue Froide, first turn right then left, then stay on the path to the left. At the end, first turn right then left again and return to the starting point (S/E).
