Saut du Doubs car park, Les Vions, after the hamlet of Les Taillards. Yellow and blue markings and some unmarked sections.
(S/E) Descend towards Saut du Doubs along the small tarmac road for about 100 metres (signs for Pays Horloger). Take the forest path on the left (towards Barrage du Châtelot). After a flight of wooden steps, you will come back to the small tarmac road.
(1) Continue downhill. When the road turns right (signpost 31), take the gravel path on the left towards Le Châtelard. You will soon reach a fork in the road.
(2) Climb up to the left again, leaving the signposts and passing at the foot of some beautiful rocks. Stay on this small, well-marked gravel path until you reach a signposted path on your right. Continue straight ahead. You will soon be walking along the edge of the woods and pastures. You will quickly enter the woods and come to a fork (signpost on a fir tree).
(3) Take the path climbing to the right (towards Le Châtelard). After a steep climb, at a hairpin bend, you will reach a wider stony path (marker post). Continue straight ahead for about 50 metres. A path branches off to the right towards the cornices. You can continue along the wide path, but I recommend taking the pleasant little path, which offers views of Lake Moron. But be careful, after about 50 metres, it forks, so take the path going up the hill on the left. You will rejoin the marked path that leads to the viewpoint, a small path on the right when the trail reaches a plateau.
(4) After the viewpoint, the path descends to a bend (hunting car park) on a wide stony road. Continue downhill to the right towards the Saut du Doubs. Stay on this well-marked path to reach another hiking trail (Moron signpost). Descend to the right to the Robin Hood hut.
(5) Descend to the left, passing in front of the huts to discover the shores of Lake Moron at the bottom of the gorges. Climb back up to the first hut and turn left onto the path that runs along the bank to rejoin the marked trail. About 400 m further on, a small path descends to the bank.
(6) Continue along this beautiful path at the foot of the cliffs overlooking the river. Guided by the murmur of the waterfall, you will soon arrive at the first viewpoint over the Saut du Doubs.
(7) Descend to the second viewpoint via the stairs.
(8) Climb back up the stairs to the low walls and continue left along the path that runs along the top of the river to the first small chalet-refreshment bar: Bienvenu. Descend to the pier.
(9) Go up the small tarmac road on the right and quickly take the stony path on the right that cuts across the bend. Cross the road and continue along the path (despite the crosses) opposite to reach the road a little higher up.
(1) Walk up to the left for about a hundred metres to find the staircase on the right that will take you back to the car park (S/E).
