(S/E) The starting point for this hike is at the Vions car park, at a place called Les Taillards, right next to the Saut du Doubs.
Head towards the car park by going down the small road and, at the tourist signs for the watchmaking region, take the path on the left, which is paved to prevent runoff. The path avoids the road by cutting across the hairpin bends. After the steps that lead to the road, take the road on the left.
(1) Take the path that descends to the right. Follow the small fork on the left to reach the road at a small car park and take the path opposite to rejoin the road and descend to the Saut du Doubs site.
(2) Turn left between the two buildings, passing the souvenir shops and small terraces. The path is well maintained until the first overhang of the Saut du Doubs. Be sure to take the path on the right.
(3) After this first overhang at the waterfall, climb the steps to reach the Saut du Doubs viewpoint. Then continue along the path, which becomes less well maintained (GR®5), towards the Châtelot dam. Follow this path along the reservoir for a good kilometre before passing under a rock arch. Continue on theGR®5to the Châtelot dam, passing "Robin Hood's hut" and the fishermen's boats.
(4) Retrace your steps to the first path that branches off to the right and uphill. At this point, you will leave theGR®5. At the first fork, continue uphill to the right, then take a hairpin bend and continue uphill.
(5) Turn right. Then follow a sharp bend to the left before joining the yellow and blue markings. Continue climbing to the right until you reach a large turning area for forestry work.
Climb up to the ridge via the path that climbs steeply at the start, then join the Châtelard viewpoint.
(6) Continue on the yellow and blue marked trail along the ridge. Then descend along the ridge and rejoin the road.
(1) Continue left along this road, then take the concrete path, starting by climbing the steps to the Vions car park (S/E).
nice little walk with no difficulty
