The village of Beaufay and the Butte de Montplaisir

Start from the car park at Beaufay church.

(S/E) From the car park, cross the Douves leisure park towards the tennis court. Then take the path on the left and continue along the edge of the fields to the stony path of La Gouderie, which you follow to the right.

(1) Continue straight on, cross La Gouderie, then turn left, cross a small road and arrive at a place called Le Bréjon.

(2) Turn right for 650m and veer left near a road. At the next junction, turn right.

(3) Cross another road to take the path opposite, which turns left to pass in front of Les Landes and L’Yvarderie.

(4) Continue along the dirt track, cross a small road and carry on to Les Guébières.

(5) Walk past the buildings then veer slightly to the right to take the dirt track which climbs into the woods of the Butte de Montplaisir and joins a stony path.

(6) Turn right towards La Vinaudière and turn left onto the path leading down to the D83.

(7) Continue left for 30m and turn right onto a stony path. Pass Le Sablonnier, cross the D243 and arrive at La Boulasserie.

(8) Turn right onto a sunken track to pass in front of Bel Ébat and, before reaching the road, join a wide grassy path created for horse riding.

(9) Follow this path to the left, pass the picnic area and arrive at La Vieuxville.

(10) Cross the road and take the path opposite, running alongside the fields, to Les Noës.

(11) Turn left into the farmyard, taking a grassy path which then becomes stony, and turn right, before the road, onto the grassy lane for 300m until you reach a crossroads.

(12) Turn right onto the small road for about 200m before taking another grassy path that runs alongside the road to the left until you reach a crossroads.

(13) Turn left onto the path leading to a road at La Longraie.

(14) Take the road on the right, pass a house on the left (La Barre) and, a few metres further on, reach a path starting on the left. Follow this, pass La Boëlle and arrive on the D25

(15) Cross this road and take the path opposite for 1 km. You will reach a small road; turn right and continue to the next junction.

(16) Turn left, pass Le Buisson then La Pézerie and turn right to reach the D83.

(17) Follow the track on the right, running parallel to the D83, for 250m and turn left onto Chemin de la Crosnerie. Pass Malitourne and then La Voirie and arrive at a small road.

(18) Cross the road and take the grassy lane opposite on the right, running parallel to the road; follow this for 850m until you reach a junction.

(19) Turn right onto a path, then left onto a road heading towards the village. Cross the main street and head for the church car park (S/E).

Public toilet in the village.

No particular difficulties, apart from the length of the walk.
