The tour of Puy d'Ysson

You can start from either of the two car parks on Rue du Cimetière.

(S/E) Take the road that runs alongside the playground and arrive at a fork.

(1) Turn left onto the road and continue to the picnic area.

(2) Turn left onto the road that climbs towards Puy d'Ysonn.

(3) At the hairpin bend, leave the road on the right and take the path that descends to the left, winding between the trees at the foot of the hill. Continue along the path, ignoring the first path that climbs up to the right, until you reach a second path.

(4) Take it on the right, at a bend to the left, and follow this path, which begins to descend to a telephone antenna.

(5) Turn right again onto a farm track and continue to the next intersection.

(6) Ignore the path on the left, which is a dead end, and continue on the right-hand path along the edge of a wooded area until you reach the junction with Route de Florat.

(7) Cross it and continue on the path opposite, heading due east. Continue until you reach the second path on the right.

(8) Take this path and walk up to the tarmac road you took at the start.

(1) Follow it straight ahead and return to the school car park (S/E).

For parking in Solignat, coming from Issoire, take the steep road that goes up to the cemetery (no motorhomes allowed).

Parking halfway up or higher in front of the primary school.

From point (4) to point (8), the path can be very muddy with puddles, so it is best to walk on it on a dry day after a dry spell.
