To get to the starting point, in Vanclans turn right onto the Route des Fermes de Cicon towards the Calvary, then La Grange Gourmande to park near the Geai du Haut farm.
(S/E) Head north-west and go down the tarmac road. At the bottom, turn right and ignore the turnings on the left.
(1) At the intersection, go straight ahead on a stony path. Stay on this main path, ignoring the side paths. Leave Les Essarts on your right and you will come to a T-junction.
(2) Turn left onto the discovery trail and walk along the lake on your right. Follow the discovery trail.
(3) At the fountain, turn right (follow the "sentier" sign).
(4) At the picnic table, turn right and continue around Lac de Barchet, climbing up through the fir trees. Continue through a peat bog: be careful, the ground is spongy and this is the natural habitat of protected butterflies.
(5) Come out onto a road and follow it to the left. Leave the discovery trail on the right and climb up to the entrance to the village.
(6) At the glass recycling bin at the entrance to the hamlet, turn right onto the gravel path. This is followed by a fairly steep climb.
(7) When you reach a large flat area, turn left, heading west, and continue climbing. The path then widens and descends to a tarmac road.
(8) Turn left onto this road, taking care to watch out for traffic.
(9) At the crossroads, turn right onto the stony path and then, a little further on, turn right onto the forest path.
(10) After the field, follow the track and turn right to walk along the woods and reach the car park (S/E).
