From Six-Fours, head to Le Brusc (there are several routes) and, once you reach the harbour, park in the Quai Saint-Pierre car park.
(S/E) Set off along Quai Saint-Pierre heading south-west, first passing the harbour master’s office and the sailing clubs, then skirting the lagoon along the Corniche des Îles Paul Ricard. On the way, you’ll see the Maison du Patrimoine on your left. Continue to the car park, from where you can walk across the beach to the footbridge leading to Île du Petit Gaou.
(1) Walk around the La Lagune restaurant to reach the footbridge leading to Île du Grand Gaou.
(2) Take this footbridge and, immediately afterwards, turn right to walk along the shore, passing small buildings including, amongst others, toilets. You’ll arrive at a large open area where the annual Gaou Festival is held. At the end of this open area on the right, take the path closest to the shore, which leads to a beach facing the large Île des Embiez.
Walk along the rocky shore and the cliffs to return, following the west coast of Île du Gaou until you reach the footbridge again; take it to return to Petit Gaou.
(2) After the footbridge, turn right to see the small fishing harbour (one or two fishing boats), and head to the foot of Robert Forrer’s Statue of Venus.
Then head to the restaurant La Lagune and the footbridge.
(1) Head back across the footbridge in the opposite direction, continue along the Corniche des Îles, and just before the car park, you’ll find Chemin des Lauves on the right.
(3) To avoid returning by the same route as on the way there, take this little street which will allow you to enjoy the tranquillity of the village of Le Brusc from within.
At the five-way junction, take the second road on the right (Traverse du Gros Pin), which joins the Montée du Gros Pin.
(4) Then turn right onto Chemin de la Gardiole for about 20 metres, then immediately left onto a narrow lane heading down towards the north-east, Chemin Sainte-Cécile, which soon runs alongside Saint-Pierre Church.
(5) Turn left in front of the church forecourt onto Rue Marius Bondil, which leads down towards the port.
Turn left onto the quays and return to the car park (S/E).
