Park in the Venta Paco car park in Dantxarinea.
To get to this starting point by car, see the practical information section below.
(S/E) Turn your back on Venta Paco and continue straight ahead (the bridge at the pharmacy is now closed to traffic). Pass the French customs office and turn right. Then take thefirst street on the right, which will soon turn into a dirt track. This track is marked at the beginning with a pottock and the name Elorri (the name of another hike offered by the town of Ainhoa). You will reach a crossroads with several directions.
(1) Take the path on the right. You will come to a large pylon and continue straight ahead on an uphill tarmac road. You will go around a large active quarry. You will come to a stony path.
(2) Leave the road and descend this path on the right, then after a short climb, you will reach the highest point of this hike.
(3) Turn left onto the downhill path and continue straight ahead. You will reach a T-junction.
(4) Continue straight ahead on a fairly steep descent (the only difficult part of this hike), where caution is advised. You will come to a cattle grid (which prevents animals from crossing) and take the road to the left. You will reach the French-Spanish border.
(5) Cross the river via a small bridge. Pass Venta Pantxo, then Venta Migelen Borda and continue straight ahead. You will arrive at the Venta Paco car park (S/E).
