Description of the walk

To reach the starting point via the D769 (road from Lorient to Morlaix), coming from the south (Lanester), take the first roundabout after Plouay, turning left towards Manério and Kerhuennec. Follow the signs to Kerhuennec. In Kerhuennec, pass the large buildings on the right and continue for about 100 metres until you reach the tarmac road that descends to the left, in front of the last house in the hamlet. You can park your car on this road, on the grass on the right, along the hedge.

(S/E) Take the road you used to get to the car park in the opposite direction, drive through the hamlet of Kerhuennec and continue along the road. At the crossroads (elevation 104), go straight ahead.

(1) After about 150 m, turn left towards Keriquel. Pass this hamlet and cross the D769 further on (caution: dangerous crossing). On the other side, continue to the left-hand bend.

(2) At the entrance to the bend, take the path on the right (not shown on the map) that enters the woods, and 10 m further on, cross the embankment on the left to find the path that descends to the left. Follow a stream on your left until you reach a fountain.

(3) Here, the path turns right to cross another stream, then descends again to the left until it reaches a larger path, now converted into a greenway (an old railway line used by theGR®38).

(4) Follow the greenway (GR®38) to the left (red and white markings). When you reach a path coming from the right, continue straight ahead on the greenway. When you reach the D769, turn right and take the tunnel under the road. At the exit, turn right.

(5) At the crossroads, cross the street and you will immediately come to a car park. At the far end of the car park, take a path which initially runs alongside the departmental road. When you reach the Scorff river, turn left and walk along the bank. Pass in front of the Moulin de Poulhibet mill and continue along the river until you reach the Moulin du Stang footbridge.

(6) Walk across the footbridge to enjoy the view of the Scorff, then retrace your steps. Continue along the carriage road that climbs back to the starting point. (S/E)

The route is pleasant and well shaded (plus it was hot 😅). Along the Scorff river, it's lovely. The last kilometre is uphill.

Hello
I just did this route, which I was partly familiar with, as I'm originally from Plouay. With my Garmin hiking GPS, I found it to be 9.4 km. A word of advice: it's better to start the route at Moulin du Stang because, from the mill to Kerhuennec, there's about 1.5 km at a 5.5% incline. and it's easier to do them at the start than at the end (a matter of preference). The first part of the route, from Moulin du Stang to the D769 crossing, is a bit dull as it's on the road, but after that it's a treat, with shade and waterfront for part of the way. The local council maintains these paths.
Kudos to the designer.

Nice route! At point 2 (Ty Marrec), immediately after entering the bend, take the path that climbs to the right, then after 10 metres, go over the newly built embankment on the left to rejoin the forest path that will take you to point 3.

A beautiful hike, with a large section along the Scorff, which is full at this time of year and therefore sings all along the route. There are a few hills that allow you to overlook the river, and beautiful trails through a forest with trees covered in magnificent moss. We did the route in reverse and ended on the tarmac section, which was a little less pleasant. But overall, a very beautiful hike.
