Description of the walk

At Pont Kerlo, you can park on the small road leading to the village of Stang ar C'Haro (2 to 3 spaces).

(S/E) From the bridge, head towards Stang ar C'Haro. Cross the hamlet and, at the exit, continue along a wide farm track which leads to a meadow 50 metres further on. Take the path on the left at the edge of the meadow. About 50 metres further on, it enters a wooded area in the form of a sunken path leading down to the valley. Follow it for about 100 metres to reach a large alluvial area bordered on the right by a rocky, wooded escarpment.

(1) Descend to the right, heading east, to find a path a few metres further on at the base of this escarpment, which quickly joins the Scorff river. This path winds for about 1 km through a sparsely wooded area, following the course of the river more or less closely until it reaches the confluence of the Scorff and the Kernevez stream (see photo).

(2) About 100 metres before this confluence, turn left onto a path leading up towards the village of Buzédo. After about 400 metres, leave this road and turn right onto a path that descends towards the village of Kerandiagon. Another 400 metres further on, you will come to the Kerlégant mill.

(3) A path on the left descends towards the Kernevez stream and crosses it via a somewhat dilapidated footbridge to join the road connecting the mill to the hamlet of Kerandiagon. Turn left.

(4) Take the path on the left, just after the house, to climb back up to the plateau heading south-west then west. The path now follows an old section ofthe GR®24E trail, whose markings have disappeared. It is a wide path (see photo) that passes through the hamlet of Namouhic slightly below, then continues along a small dirt road to a fork.

(5) Turn right, heading west, onto the now tarmac road that crosses the D222 (take care). Continue to the hamlet of Kerhouant.

(6) Pass the first house and turn right onto a small road that climbs towards a pine forest. Continue for 200 m along a farm track that leads to the plateau.

At the fork, turn left onto a path towards a high-voltage pylon. Continue along the path to the right of this pylon. This path descends gently towards the Ellé valley. About 400 m after the pylon, turn left onto a barely visible path that descends more steeply to rejoin, a hundred metres further down, the path continuing the descent towards the valley. The path heads west before meeting a sunken lane that leads through a gate onto the road leading to the hamlets of Vihout and Guerlé.

(7) Turn right towards the hamlet for about 200 metres. Here you will join the current route ofthe GR®34E(white and red markings). Immediately after a house and just before the climb to Guerlé, take the farm track on the left. 400 metres further on, turn right, heading west, and you will reach the Moulin Mohot

(8). At this point, it is worth making a 2.5 km round trip to take a look at the Moulin du Stall: take the road on the right. After 400 m, a path on the left leads to the river at the Moulin du Stall (see photo). Crossing the bridge at this point is prohibited. Retrace your steps.

(8) Go straight ahead along the small stony path that leads to the bridge and cross the Ellé. There is a beautiful view of the Moulin Mohot (pronounced Mohotte - see photo). At the end of the bridge, take the path on the left that follows the course of the river for about 500m, then climb up to the plateau via a path through a wooded area.

(9) Turn left (GR®34Ewhite and red markings) and continue to the next path.

(10) Cross the path to descend quickly towards the valley via a wide trail (see photo) which then runs alongside the Ellé.

(11) At the crossroads, leave theGR®34Efor a moment and continue straight ahead. The path climbs towards the hamlet of Méné Bloch, which you pass by going up the road leading to the village of Lonjou for a few metres. Immediately after the house, take the path on the left towards the valley. After about 100 metres, turn right onto the path behind a second house and continue for about 500 metres, ignoring two paths on the right.

(12) Avoid the path that climbs up to the plateau and turn left in roughly the same direction.
Another path on the left (not visible on the map) descends towards a meadow and allows you to reach the Ellé more quickly. You will rejoin the normal route a little further on at the river.

(13) Turn right onto the path that climbs steeply towards the Ty-Nadan equestrian centre. Cross the centre and head left towards the entrance to the Ty-Nadan campsite on the other side of the road connecting Locunolé to Arzano.

(14) Turn left onto this road and cross the Ty-Nadan bridge 200 metres further on.

(15) Leave the road and follow the path on the right that descends towards the river. Cross a stream via a small wooden footbridge and walk 300 metres upstream to reach a local service road. Here, you leave theGR®34E, which continues towards Quimperlé.

(16) Continue along this road to the left for 50 metres, then turn right to reach the village of Arzano via the road linking Locunolé to Arzano for 2 kilometres. Cross the village to the Ecole des Deux Rivières school.

(17) Turn right onto Rue de Griminel, then 100 metres further on, at the crossroads, take the road on the left towards Moulin du Roch.

(18) Turn left onto a path for 50 metres, then turn right onto a path marked by the Kergall donkey farm (marker representing a small rocking donkey).

(19) At the crossroads, turn left onto the path heading north to descend a small valley alongside a stream. This will take you to the path along the Scorff. Turn left to cross the bridge and return to your starting point (S/E).

a beautiful hike, but with a few hassles: the path was gone in two places:
- at 1 towards Buzedo, so I walked along the next field and cut through the forest to the south-east
- at 15 towards Mené Bloch: walk along the field at the exit of the hamlet, then cut across 300m through ferns and brambles (it's doable)...
Make sure you wear good shoes and long trousers, as there are ticks. An app and/or watch are recommended.

At the Mohot mill, there is a picnic table to the left of the trail on the banks of the Ellé. Then, simply walk 50 metres uphill to rejoin the GR.
Finally, there is a long stretch of road to reach Arzano.

Despite all this, I really enjoyed this hike and the directions were 95% accurate. Thank you

Some difficulty following the route due to vegetation. Very beautiful sections (trees and paths). It's a shame that there are several kilometres of road, particularly on the way back to Arzano.

A magnificent hike with beautiful views, nature and mills off the beaten track.
Be aware, however, that this is a wild hike: a good half of the paths are poorly maintained or not maintained at all and are more or less impassable (ferns and brambles up to chest height in places and fallen trees requiring a bit of agility).
A slight downside, as already noted in other reviews, is the return on the main road, which is unmarked, but if you follow the Viso Rando map, there's no problem.

An interesting route, except for the return trip to Arzano, which is exclusively by road. We tried an alternative route that led us to a dead end (private property), which was a shame!
It's quite a challenging route.

Excellent hike apart from the return to ARZANO by road, which is 2 kilometres long.
The only unpleasant moment of this hike was encountering a rather aggressive dog while crossing the hamlet of Namouhic in BERNE.

First of all, thank you for this hike! Beautiful sections along sunken paths, beside the water... nice to do even in summer because there is plenty of shade along almost the entire route.

The hike is fairly easy physically and can be done with children without any problems. However, you should still bring a GPS as there are very few signposts. With the map provided, it's still doable for people who are a bit experienced.

A few minor observations, however:

- We removed the section on the road from the Ty Nadan bridge (point 15) to point 18.
- Start from point 18 (where you can park) or leave a car there (we had two cars, which isn't ideal, we know).

Make sure you do the circular in the direction indicated, otherwise you'll have some tough climbs in the other direction.

In this case, the route is only 13 km long. 11 a.m. departure, 4 p.m. arrival with a lunch break...
Point 2 is a nice spot to eat by the water. Otherwise, leave around 10 a.m. and stop near point 8 at Moulin de Rouho... open spaces with grass, by the water, so bucolic!

Thanks again, have a great day!

Nice hike. Watch out for the rivers, which are swollen.
