Park in the Damwix port car park (sometimes busy in high season).
(S/E) Take the bridge over the Sèvre Niortaise. Continue straight ahead on the small road towards Bazoin.
(1) At the first bend, leave the road and take a wide stony path (yellow markings). Walk between small woods and fields, among blackberry bushes, honeysuckle and hops. Ignore the two paths that branch off to the right.
(2) At thethird intersection, continue straight ahead (follow the "Barque à chaîne" variant).
(3) At the next intersection, turn right. The markings become a little unclear... The path turns left and then curves to the right. You will arrive at the edge of the Conche de la Baronnie and turn right.
(4) Cross the Conche on a small footbridge that replaces the chain boat. Continue straight ahead.
(5) At the T-junction, turn left and rejoin the main route. Cross the Canal de Forges via a small stone bridge. Continue along the path until you reach the Canal du Mignon.
(6) Then turn right. For about 2 km, walk along the canal, which flows peacefully on your left.
(7) Just before a bridge and a lock on the canal, take a small road on the right. Cross the Vieux Béjou and follow the Canal du Nouveau Béjou.
(8) Immediately take the bridge over the canal. Then turn right and follow the canal (on your right) along a path that is initially gravel and then tarmac. Shortly before the canal joins the Sèvre Niortaise, the path turns left. At the T-junction, on the banks of the Sèvre, turn left.
(9) Cross the Sèvre Niortaise on thefirst bridge. At the junction that immediately follows, turn right and cross the hamlet of Les Loges. Follow the small road that runs alongside the Sèvre. Further on, pass under the road bridge and you will immediately reach the starting point (S/E).
