Description of the walk

Park at the Bazoin locks and the landing stage.

(DA) Turn right towards Damvix, then cross the lock bridge.

(1) Turn right onto the banks of the Canal du Nouveau Béjou.
Follow the canal for 1.5 km, then turn left and follow the path towards the Pont des Loges bridge.

(2) Do not cross, but continue straight ahead. Continue around the island along the Sèvre Niortaise.

(3) Facing the Pont de l'Ouillette on the other bank, turn left with the river until you reach a bridge over the Sèvre Niortaise.

(4) Turn left onto the road towards the Bazoin lock.

(1) Cross and, following the same route as on the way there, return to the Marais Bazoin pier (S/E).

This hike should be avoided in hot weather and/or strong sunshine as there is no shade at all.
