(S/E) The walk starts from the grassy car park below and to the left of the village square. Walk up to the school.
Take the path to the right of the school; a sign from the tourist office indicates the start of the hike. The path runs alongside the grounds of the small Château de Plaze, a late 18th-century pleasure house listed as a historic monument.
(1) After about 1 km, turn left onto a path along a wood. Join a small tarmac road on the left. Follow it to the Grange de Capounel.
(2) Turn left towards Lafont-Haute. At the houses, follow the small road on the left to the D66.
(3) At the junction with the small departmental road, continue left down a slight slope for 500 m.
(4) Leave the road on the right just before a small metal cross (see photo), onto a sunken path that climbs up alongside a wood. After 400 m, once you have passed a modern house surrounded by thuja trees, join the D32 and follow it to the right for 700 m.
(5) Turn left onto a small road at a picnic table (a good place to stop for a snack, see photo) towards the village of Daudé. Continue straight on to Dugué, passing through private property.
(6) In front of a small house in the woods, turn left down a slight slope and follow the path to the road.
(7) Before the cemetery, take the road on the right, then leave Les Veyrines-Hautes on your right.
(8) At a place called Les Veyrines-Basses, take the small path on the left, which passes in front of a pretty rural lodge on the right. Follow the path downhill towards the road. Turn left at the waste collection point and go uphill to return to the village of Omps 400 m away (S/E).
Be careful of the dog at the Dugué farm, though.
