Take Chemin de l'Alouette to leave Le Beaucet. After about 1.2 km, you will arrive at the small Piaule car park.
(S/E) Cross Chemin de l'Alouette. Opposite, slightly to the right, theGRP® Tour des Monts du Vaucluse marked in yellow/red enters the vegetation.
(1) Marker "Carrière 458 m". Stay on the yellow/red markedGRP® towards Saumane de Vaucluse, which turns right. Follow the asphalt road for a few hundred metres, passing in front of the quarry.
(2) Leave the road and take the track on the right. A little further on, take the path on the left, staying on the yellow/red markedGRP®. At the "Bourguigne 514 m" marker, continue straight on towards Fontaine-de-Vaucluse (yellow/red markings). Cross the Piste du Rocher. Continue straight ahead.
(3) Large crossroads (cistern). Continue straight ahead, ignoring the paths that branch off to the left and right. TheGR®91joins theGRP® and follows it to the next junction marked by the signpost "Rocher des Trois Luisants 637 m".
(4) Signpost "Rocher des Trois Luisants 637 m". Continue on theGRP® towards Fontaine-de-Vaucluse / Les Trois Luisants (yellow/red markings).
(5) Continue to follow the yellow/red markings, turn left onto theGRP® Sentier Historique du Mur de la Peste / Piste de la Pouraque. Marker Croix du Jas d'Esprit 636 m and start of the Venasque Communal Forest. Continue straight ahead towards Pouraque Ouest.
(6) Pouraque Ouest marker 610 m. Leave theGRP® Sentier Historique du Mur de la Peste and turn left onto the Piste de Carroufra towards Venasque/Ribastié. At the "Ribastié 485 m" marker, turn left towards Venasque/La Nauque (yellow markings). The trail descends to the "La Nauque 484 m" marker. Continue straight ahead towards Saint-Gens/Carroufra, now on theGR®91marked in white/red and yellow. Ignore the small trail that descends to the right. After the house at La Lauze, the road is partially paved.
(7) Turn left (white/red and yellow markings).
(8) Turn left again and descend onto Chemin de Carroufra (tarmac road). Stay on the white/red markings. Do not take Chemin de la Vachère. The path will turn into a track that leads to Lou Planestèu.
(9) At the "Lou Planestèu 421 m" signpost, leave theGR® 91 and take the unmarked path that branches off to the right and joins a track that descends towards Pérye. Do not take the Pérye path on the right, but stay on the track that turns left and joins the Route de Saint-Gens.
(10) Turn left onto Route de Saint-Gens.
(11) At the Refuge de Saint-Jean, at the oratory, cross the road and take the path that climbs to the right (yellow markings). Stay on the yellow-marked path, which takes you back to the Piaule car park (S/E).
