Park in the car park at Fougères beach, in the commune of Saint-Plantaire.
(S/E) Follow the GR®654 (GRP® Val de Creuse) signs. The route runs along the south-western shore of Lake Éguzon, then climbs back up towards the campsite. Turn right into a street that ends in a path leading up to the outskirts of Fougères.
(1) Turn right onto the wide carriageway leading to a picnic area. Follow the path downhill and head towards the banks of the Creuse.
(2) Turn left and follow the GRP® which runs alongside the Creuse river and then climbs back up through the woods.
(3) Continue opposite the GRP® which descends to the Moulin Ratet stream and runs alongside the Creuse again. Leave a path climbing to the left and continue along the river, then climb through the woods to the belvedere des rochers de la Fileuse (viewpoint) and descend towards Le Montet.
(4) After the first house, turn right (GRP® or blue markings): you are now on the Sentier des Arts. Follow it until you reach the RD 30.
(5) Go up the road on the left for 200 m, then take the path on your left that cuts through the woods and joins the RD 30. Follow this road to the left for 100 m. At the picnic area, take the path going up to the right.
(6) At the next intersection, leave the GRP® trail and follow the blue trail to the left.
(7) Just before reaching a small road, turn left onto a path that joins the RD 30. Cross the road and take the path opposite (slightly to the left).
(8) After passing a path climbing up to the right, continue along the blue trail, passing a path on the left, until you reach a small private pond. Continue until you reach a small road.
(9) Turn right, then left and cross St-Jallet, following the yellow markings.
(10) At the end of the village, turn right onto a path that takes you to the Moulin Ratet stream, then climb back up to Les Bordes.
(11) Take the street on the left towards Fougères beach, then the path on the right.
(12) At the next intersection, turn left onto the grassy path and continue through fields and meadows until you reach a small road on the left that leads to La Hutte.
(13) Turn right onto the road (yellow and blue signs).
(14) After an upward curve to the left, take the path on the right that joins the RD 36, which you follow to the right for 20 m.
(15) Turn onto the path on the left (blue sign).
(16) After passing a path on the right, turn left onto a path that runs alongside meadows and joins the RD 40a. Cross this road and continue straight ahead on a wider, clearer path.
(17) Return to the Val de Creuse GRP® and follow it to the left until you reach a small road on the left, which you take to return to the starting point (S/E).
