Park in the car park near the tennis courts, Rue de la Haie d’Épines in Cambes-en-Plaine. Alternatively, park in the stadium car park, Rue Charles Decaen.
(S/E) From the car park, with your back to the tennis courts, turn right into Rue de la Haie d’Épines and walk up it on the right-hand pavement until you reach the edge of the junction. At the bend, take the path on the right and follow it to Chemin Sainte-Anne.
(1) Continue straight ahead onto Chemin de la 59th Staffordshire Division, follow it for about 1 km and then continue straight on along Rue du Chemin de Fer for another 1 km or so.
(2) Cross Route d’Épron (D 177) with extreme caution and take the small path opposite. Walk alongside the sports facilities and then the university campus. At the second residential block, pass the three metal posts, turn right at the corner of the property at 5 Allée du Bocage and take the path running between the buildings. Reach and then cross Rue du Petit Clos Saint-Marc and continue straight ahead. Note the Lycée Technologique Notre-Dame de Fidélité on the left and the Salle Omnisports de l’Avant-Garde Caennaise on the right. Wind your way between the buildings, then go round the large grassy area on the right and carry on to the car park of the Maison de Quartier Folie-Couvrechef. Turn left into Passage du Monastère, follow the large grassy area until you reach Rue de Malon, then cross it carefully via the pedestrian crossing.
(3) Follow Rue de la Chapelle for about 500 m until you reach a pedestrian crossing located just past the entrance to the Caen Tennis Club (on the opposite side of the road) and just before a right-hand bend. Cross Rue de la Chapelle and continue to the right along the left-hand pavement until you reach the entrance to Parc de la Fossette on the left as the road curves. Walk around the park anti-clockwise and head for the opposite entrance on the Boulevard du Maréchal Juin side.
(4) Turn right, follow the boulevard past the sports grounds until you reach Rue du Chemin Fourchu. Turn right at the corner of the Stade de la Fossette and follow Rue du Chemin Fourchu to the junction with Rue de la Folie (D 177). Turn right, follow Rue de la Folie for a few metres, then cross it carefully to join Haut Chemin.
(5) Follow Haut Chemin towards Saint-Contest for about 1 km until you reach Rue des Écoles. Cross Rue du Jeu de Paume and continue straight ahead to the landscape cemetery.
(6) At the corner of the cemetery, turn right and follow the path to a junction (elevation 70). Turn left, negotiate the right-hand bend and reach another junction near a farm shed. Turn left, then right at the next junction 200 m further on, and continue straight ahead until you reach Route de Courseulles (D 79). Cross with the utmost caution.
(7) Take the Chemin de l’Épine straight ahead and follow it all the way until you reach Rue des Alliés. Turn right, take Rue des Alliés and continue to the church, crossing Rue Abbé Lemonnier. A little further on, cross Rue du Manoir, take Rue du Bourg to the roundabout. Go round the roundabout on the right, cross the esplanade near the school complex. Cross Rue Charles Decaen then go round the tennis courts to reach the car park (S/E).
