Parking on Rue des Lilas in Cairon-le-Vieux.
(S/E) From the Rue des Lilas car park, retrace your steps and then turn left onto Chemin Notre-Dame du Marais towards Route de Creully. Keep to the right to cut across the square towards the calvary, then cross the D 22 (Route de Creully) at the pedestrian crossing. Turn left towards Caen, then take Rue de la Cachette on the right.
(1) At the intersection, turn right onto Rue de la Mairie and then left onto Rue des Terriers. Continue straight ahead, take Chemin des Coutures and continue to the D170, Rue des Rots. Turn right, stay on the right-hand side of the road and cross Impasse des Aubépines, then the D 170 at the pedestrian crossing. Continue in the same direction but on the left-hand side of the road. This neighbourhood is undergoing rapid development, with construction work currently underway, so landmarks are likely to change. Continue until you pass the house with the grey fence.
(2) Turn left onto the path, take Rue des Pins opposite and continue straight on until you reach Rue des Écureuils. Turn left, continue along Chemin Francis Russel and continue opposite along Chemin du Clos Joli until you reach a green technical station on the left.
(3) Turn left onto the road and continue through the housing estate. Take Rue de l'Abbé Bourdon to the crossroads, turn right onto Rue des Tailleurs de Pierre, then right again onto Rue Jardin Céleri. At the crossroads, turn left onto Rue Boulay, pass in front of the Town Hall, then cross Rue Boulay carefully to take Rue de l'Église. Pass in front of the church and walk along the cemetery wall.
(4) Enter the cemetery, cross it and exit on the other side. Follow Venelle Saint-Martin, which is surrounded by walls. At the end, turn left onto Rue Boulay and continue until you reach the second bridge over the Mue, at the entrance to Lasson. Turn right onto Avenue du Château, negotiate the bend and take La Ruelle on the left (pedestrian crossing - red/white markings). At the crossroads, turn right into Rue du Capitaine Poinlane, then left into Rue Crois Mare. Follow the path for about 100 metres. Turn right onto the path that runs alongside the plain and follow it for about 1.5 km until you reach the D22. Cross the departmental road at the pedestrian crossing and take Rue de la Ferme opposite until you reach the crossroads.

- Option: turn left, take the Moulineaux path and climb up to the church in Cairon,
- Alternatively, turn right into Impasse du Charron. Cross the bridge over the Mue and follow the Sentier du Moulin à Huile on the left. At the crossroads, turn left into Rue de la Cascade and continue to the next crossroads.

- Option: continue straight ahead on Rue de la Cascade, cross the Mue river and turn right onto Rue de la Ferme to see the farmyard.
- Alternatively, turn right onto Sentier des Moulins, which runs alongside the Mue. When the Mue bends to the left, turn right and take Rue du Mont Gilles. Then turn left onto Rue des Villons and cross the Vey stream. At the next crossroads, turn right onto Chemin Notre-Dame du Marais, cross the hamlet and pass the last house and the first farm field next to it.
(7) Turn right onto the grassy path that leads to the Vey and allows you to walk as close as possible to the stream. After about 500 metres, cross the first bridge to reach the other bank, pass close to the oratory and continue along the right bank of the Vey. After about 300 metres, cross the second bridge near the wash house, return to Chemin Notre-Dame du Marais and reach Rue des Lilas, which is just opposite. (S/E)
