(2) Then turn right onto Rue du Château d'Eau until you reach Thaon Church. Cross the D170 and take Rue des Écoles, which continues through a small passageway to Rue de la Forge; turn left onto this street and continue to the end. There, turn left onto a dirt track, Chemin de la Vieille Église, which is reflected in the clear waters of the Mue river.
(3) The old church of Thaon, 11th and 12th centuries
This will take you to theGR®223, which you follow opposite, walking alongside the mushroom beds on one side and the river on the other. At the end of the path, turn right onto the D141 for 200 metres, then take the Chemin du Rocreux on the left. (50 m further on, on a path on the right, you can breathe in the air that Serge Saint breathed, or not...). The path becomes a tarmac road leading to Basly. Take the second street on the left, Rue du Stade, then thefourth on the left, Rue de l'Église, for 60 m.
(4) Thethird sculpture is on the right in a park behind the church and town hall. Go around the town hall on the left to join the Route de Caen, which you follow for 200 metres before taking thefirst right towards a housing estate.
(5) The next sculpture is 50 m further on at the intersection with Rue des Mutrelles. Turn left and continue to the end: a dead end on the right leads to Chemin des Parets. Follow it to the left for 100 m and take the path on the right to join theGR® 223 and Chemin des Pèlerins, which leads to the D141.
Still on theGR®, turn left onto the D141 (take care), follow it for 700 m and turn right in front of the town hall of Colomby-sur-Thaon. Continue for 700 m on the Grand Rue, then turn left into Rue du Château d'Eau.
Cross the D79 (caution), at the water tower, take the path opposite to arrive at Anisy at an old well.
(6) Turn right onto Rue de la Chenaie.
(7) The next sculpture is located next to the town hall. Continue and turn left onto Rue des Écoles; at the end, turn right onto Rue de la Perelle, which turns into a path and joins the D79.
Cross (carefully) and take the path opposite.
(8) After 2 km, turn left to arrive behind Barbieres.
(9) At the fork, turn left to go around the Barbières farm buildings, and (*) go up to the left (before a bend and before reaching the D 83), climb to the edge of the woods for 10 m towards a field.
(10) Immediately turn right into this small wood just after a plant depot. Find a very discreet little path that smells of scratches; it passes above the colony. After 500 m, leave it on the right to descend into the Mue valley, which you follow on the left on a nice, pleasant path.
(*) An alternative route is possible by continuing along the path to the D83, which you take to the left for 300 metres. After a bend, take the path on the left, a pleasant path that runs alongside the Mue.
At the end of the path, turn right, cross the bridge and join Rue de Bombanville, which you follow to the right towards the village of Thaon.
(11) After 700m, at the intersection with Rue de Duette, you will find the7th sculpture. Continue along Rue de Bombanville to the right until you reach Grande Rue, where you turn left to return to the starting point (S/E).
