The hike starts at Col de l'Ange, a car park well known to all hikers and mountain bikers in the region.
(S/E) The hike begins by taking the track that heads north-east immediately to the right of the car park.
(1) After two hairpin bends, there is an uphill path that heads west on the left; this is theGR®98. As you climb, ignore the paths on the right and keep to the left, including in front of a small sheepfold.
Then climb straight north, ignoring a path on the left 400 metres higher up.
(2) Climb up to the right when you see a sheepfold and, after 400m, you will reach a track.
(3) Follow this track, passing in front of a sheepfold.
(4) At this point, continue straight ahead up the slope to reach another track at a crossroads.
(5) Cross the junction and pass between the trees to take the widest path, veering to the right (you will leave theGR® for a moment) then continue straight ahead, ignoring the paths to the left and right, until you rejoin the GR®.
(6) Continue straight ahead, keeping to the left, follow the track taking the steepest slope (as shown on the map), or stay on theGR® and take a gentler circular loop uphill. Both paths lead to a firebreak junction.
(7) Look for a steep track opposite and follow it for 150 metres.
(8) Turn left to follow theGR®98.
(9) Turn right towards the east and follow the track to the first bend, where you continue straight ahead on a stony slope that leads to another track. The Jas de Micéau appears on the left about a hundred metres away.
(10) The jas is a beautiful, fairly large and well-maintained property. Then head south across the fields and find the return track.
Follow this track for 2,200 metres, continuing south.
(11) Turn left while enjoying the view of Cuges. Follow the track and, after a first bend to the right, continue south-west, still on the track. Pass over new olive groves and continue along the track.
You will often see paragliders here, as there is a launch site on a hill on the right, probably Pey Gros.
You will come to a crossroads you passed on the way there.
(1) Descend the path on the left, which is none other than theGR®98. Follow this to the car park (S/E).
