Access: From Culoz, take the road to the Col du Colombier. At a hairpin bend, head towards Le Fenestré and reach the car park at the end of the small road. Viewpoint nearby.
(S/E) From the car park, head back and take the first path on the left. Follow this path through the forest until you reach a junction.
(1) Turn left. Stay on the path as it winds through the forest until it emerges into a pasture; follow the almost level track to reach a junction.
(2) Continue to the right on the main path heading north (GRP®® signposted) to reach the Col du Colombier road.
(3) Head up the road, pass a fork to the left, then 400m further up, leave the road and take a path to the left.
(4) Continue climbing along this path, which will remain roughly parallel to the road. After passing some pylons, head down to reach the Col du Colombier.
(5) Cross the road and head for the cross.
(6) From the cross, return to the pass.
(5) Descend along the road on the other side, pass a hairpin bend and leave Les Granges du Colombier on your right. Continue the descent to the next hairpin bend.
(7) Leave the road by heading straight ahead. Follow the path southwards on a generally downhill gradient until you reach a crossroads.
(8) Take the path on the left. Continue along this path, which climbs slightly, until you reach the edge of a pasture.
(9) Cross the pasture and reach a junction.
(10) Ignore the path heading south which descends steeply towards Chanduraz and take the roughly level path towards a wood. Shortly afterwards, ignore a path on the right and continue along the level track. As you emerge from the forest, take a left-hand bend to rejoin theGR®® at the junction from the outward journey.
(2) Head back down the same route you took on the way up and return to the car park (S/E).
