Parking: Place des Artisans Boulangers, in front of the town hall in La Terrasse-sur-Dorlay.
(S/E) Reach the main crossroads and follow the signs for Pélussin for a few metres.
(1) Turn right onto Rue André Menut. Then at the crossroads (cross), take the road opposite towards "La Jacotte Haut" (left) and continue on the Route des Genets d'Or, climbing steadily. At Moulin Micol, the road gives way to a wide unpaved track. After a hairpin bend, it leads to the Croix du Pendu.
(2) Turn left and pass the cross. Continue straight ahead for about 200 metres.
(3) Take the path on the left for a round trip of about 1.5 km to the Vierge du Crêt Marcoux.
Please note: the path is different from the one shown on the IGN map. It also changes depending on the season, ploughing, etc. It sometimes starts before point 3. Keep going, the view from the Madonna is worth the effort!
(4) Summit of Crêt Marcoux. Turn back to the previous crossroads.
(3) Take the path on the left, which very quickly begins a steady descent.
(5) Cross the D7 road and continue on the path opposite, which is a continuation of the previous one. After going around the farm building, the path continues downhill towards the valley. Continue straight ahead until you reach the road crossing at the bottom of the valley at Moulin Payre.
(6) Turn left, then left again 30 m further on, opposite the Moulin Payre chapel. Return towards La Terrasse-sur-Dorlay via the Route des Moulins.
(7) Turn left onto Chemin de la Galoche, which climbs upwards, remaining roughly parallel to Route des Moulins.
(8) When you reach the D7, descend to the right to return to the village centre and the starting point (S/E).
