Departure from the car park 150 m after the La Barollière holiday centre on the left when coming from the town of Saint-Paul-en-Jarez. Park either near the glass recycling bin or along the road leading to the hamlet of Bayolle.
(S/E) Take the path that climbs up from the glass recycling bin and houses. Follow the main path (the widest one). It zigzags widely and ends in a wide curve at the Col de Trente Sous, recognisable by a wooden bench.
(1) From there, follow the path on the right that follows the ridge with a view of the Crêt de l'Oeillon.
(2) At the sign for theGRP® Tour du Parc, follow it straight ahead to Chavanol 3.3km.
(3) Continue straight ahead at the second sign (follow Chavanol 3 km l'hermitage). Continue until you reach a clearing.
(4) Continue straight ahead on the path that climbs uphill. At the top of the hill
(5) Turn slightly right at the orange mark on the pine tree. Follow the main track to Chavanol. Cross the D36-2 road and leave the GRP®.
(6) Head left to pass between the houses in the hamlet.
At the end of the road, follow the path to Le Planil and its cross.
(7) At Planil, turn right onto theGR®7towards Saint-Martin-en-Coailleux.
(8) At the sign, leave theGR®7to rejoin the GRP®. Turn right towards Chavanol and arrive at the crossroads you took earlier.
(6) From there, take the same path back in the opposite direction (S/E).
