Description of the walk

Park in the car park at the Pélourenq chairlift.

(S/E) Walk down from the car park and head towards the Chalets Margot via theGRP® du Tour du Dévoluy, signposted in red and yellow. Leave the trail briefly at Combe Combillon to avoid a steep slope. rejoin it after a hairpin bend. Follow theGRP® again to reach Clot des Millioux and the Vallonnettes crossroads.

(1) At this junction, take the right-hand branch, which quickly leads to the small pass of Prapérouse.
Take a moment to enjoy the scenery here.

(2) Turn back a few metres to take a well-marked path branching off to the left. Join a wide track that climbs gradually. There’s a lovely picnic spot (without a table) at a hairpin bend! Reach the Bergerie de Pied Gros.

(3) Be careful here: the track disappears for a while, but you must continue climbing westwards to find it again. Enjoy the view of Faraud, then of the Obiou. Follow the path and you’ll reach a crossroads.

(4) Take the wide path – in winter this is a ski run, signposted ‘Bleue des Chaumettes’. Follow it down to the car park at the Pélourenq chairlift (S/E).
