The walk starts from the car park between the church and the wind instrument museum in La Couture-Boussey.
There’s a bus stop in front of the museum.
(S/E) Leave the car park, then cross the D833 to take Rue de Garennes opposite (located opposite the museum). A little further on, this street gives way to a path that leads into the plain. Carry on straight ahead until you reach the entrance to Garennes-sur-Eure.
(1) At the junction, take Chemin de La Couture straight ahead (a small, steeply sloping tarmac road). Ignore the two roads branching off to the right. Continue towards the centre of Garennes-sur-Eure, then pass the school.
(2) Turn left towards Saint-Aignan Church. Walk past the church.
On your way back, turn right into Rue Marie Curie. Turn immediately left into the car park to see the calm waters of the Eure flowing by.
Then turn round and head back up Rue Marie Curie to the right. Continue along this street.
(3) Turn left into Rue du Bois. Ignore the side streets and carry on to the end of the street, then take the path that climbs between two properties.
(4) In the woods, at thefirst Fork in the road, take the path on the left which climbs quite steeply towards the top of the hill (elevation 119).
(5) At thesecond Fork in the road (almost at the top of the hill), take the path on the left which runs the entire length of the woodland.
(6) On leaving the woods, at the three-way junction, head straight up the path leading to Tourne-Boisset. Pass thefirst path on the left, then a second on the right, and continue left onto Rue du Centre.
(7) Turn left onto the street called “Le Chemin de la Mare”. At the end of the street, turn left, then right at the junction after the Grande Mare, heading towards Boussey as you pass under the power line. At the entrance to Boussey, carry on straight ahead along Rue du Parc until you reach Place Sainte-Opportune.
(8) At the far end of the square, take thefirst street on the left (Rue des Masures). Follow this road for 280 metres, then leave the tarmac and follow the path on the right, opposite the Impasse de Puits Banal. Cross the D833 and take the street opposite leading towards the Bois Fleuri.
(9) At the bend, take thefirst path on the left. This heads straight into the woods, then descends before making a right turn. Continue straight on until you reach the edge of the woods.
(10) At the edge of the woods, take the path on the left which climbs into the woods. At the top, carry on straight ahead, following the path which runs alongside a fence. Walk past the sewage treatment works. At the junction, carry on straight ahead along Allée du Bois, then continue straight on into Rue Georges Leblanc. At the end of the street, carry on straight ahead onto the D833. Walk past the town hall in La Couture-Boussey, then cross the large square to reach the car park (S/E).
