Park in the car park at Moigny-sur-Ecole church, located to the left of the church when facing the façade. Access via the A6 motorway, taking the ‘Milly-la-Forêt’ exit (the last one before the toll booth when coming from Paris).
The walk circles the grounds of Courances Castle, with the park wall mostly on your left, which serves as a handy landmark.

(S/E) In front of the church façade, first turn right then left to follow Rue du Moulin. You’ll cross a hard-surfaced track on the left; note an old military marker bearing the number 21 on the right, then continue along the street.
(1) Cross the École (the river) via a wooden bridge and walk alongside the Moulin Grenat. Continue along a small road. When this turns off to the right, leave it and take a path through the woodland. Wind your way along the wall of the Château de Courances grounds on your left. Emerge at the edge of a field and reach a T-junction (signpost).
Turn left here and, after a short stretch through the woods, walk alongside a large lawn on your right (possibly a polo pitch). You’ll come out onto a small road and follow it to the left. Turn right with the road and pass through a gate offering a view, on the left, of the château’s grounds (pond). You’ll arrive at Place Charles de Gaulle, a small triangular square with an old washhouse on the left and Saint-Étienne Church on the right.
(2) Head slightly to the left, passing the war memorial on your right. Turn left into Rue du Moulin and immediately right into Rue de l’Abreuvoir. At the end of the street, turn left and follow the D901 road to the main gate of Courances Castle.

(3) Let theGR®®11head off to the right and continue north-west along the road. Cross the bridge over the Ecole. At the Fork in the road immediately after, turn left onto a small road. As soon as possible, head slightly downhill to the left and follow the road below. You’ll come to the foot of a small wooden staircase.
(4) Then turn left onto a faintly marked path between two meadows (not shown on the 1:25,000 map), with a hedge on your right. Further on, take a zigzag path to enter the meadow on the right. You’ll come to the park wall; follow it until you reach the zigzag path leading out of the meadow. Continue straight ahead, ignoring the path coming from the right.
(5) At the next junction, with Rue du Verger, carry on straight ahead along Rue du Vaut. After a bend to the right, turn left at a right angle between two walls. At the corner by a gate, ignore a path on the right and head off to the left. At the Fork in the road immediately after, take the left-hand path. At the end of the path (a sort of roundabout), turn right towards the houses (do not enter the woods).
You will then reach the educational trail dedicated to different varieties of fruit trees. You’ll emerge onto Rue du Moulin, which you took at the start, with its information board. Turn right to reach the church and its car park (S/E).
