On the D622, the Rouquette site is signposted; follow the signs to the car park on the left, which is clearly marked.
(S/E) Follow the yellow-marked path downwards. Cross the road and reach the Grotte Saint-Dominique.
(1) The cave is marked by an inscription on a rock. It is best not to venture inside. It is dangerous for the uninitiated. Turn back, go back up the path, cross the road again and continue along the marked path opposite, which runs alongside the stream and the large granite boulders. The path climbs through lush greenery. Cross the two streams via small bridges and reach the third crossing.
(2) This section is trickier.
- Either the water level is too high and you’ll have to turn back, having at least seen a good part of the rocky terrain.
- Or the water level is reasonable and you can wade across, stepping on stones, with a rope stretched between the banks for safety.
You’ll reach the top of the rocky terrain and the tarmac road.
(3) Follow it to the left and, at the next junction in Veyrière, turn left again. Head back down to the junction signposting Roc de Baptistou to the right.
(4) Turn right and head down until you see, to the right of the road, a space that can be used as a car park. At this point, a path branches off to the left and a sign indicates the way to the rock. Head down to see the majestic Roc de Baptistou perched precariously.
(5) Head back up, turn right and continue until you reach the main junction with the road.
(4) Follow it to the right until you reach the car park (S/E).
