Description of the walk

Guzet Neige resort car park: when you arrive at the resort, turn right at the hairpin bend and park near the water basin for the snow cannons near the chairlift.

(S/E) Walk along the water basin spillway and take the almost flat track that branches off to the right. Follow it until you leave the forest.

(1) Turn left onto theGR®10trail, which winds its way uphill. When you reach the Col du Picou de la Mire, continue straight ahead on the path that climbs uphill. Leave a path on your left.

(2) Just before tackling a steep section towards the top of the resort, take the path on the right along the mountainside (GR®10) and reach the Col d'Escots, with its mountain restaurant and chairlift.

(3) Leave the track and theGR®10to find the path (PR®) on the left that passes under the Col d'Escots chairlift and begins to descend after the small stream (passage between fences and numerous paths due to the passage of cows). Stay on this path, which descends into the summer pasture and then into the beech forest. Leave the forest to arrive at the open area of Combe de Fougarolle.

(4) Take the path on the right which descends in two bends. Follow it to Combe de Crespies.

(5) Continue on the same path towards the stream. The path turns into a track as you approach the Souleillous 1 chairlift. Follow it, pass at the foot of the chairlift departure point and continue on the path that passes below the slope and then into the forest. This will take you to the departure point of the Vallon Blanc chairlift. The trail disappears among the ski slopes. Aim for the electricity poles, turning right and climbing up the right-hand ski slope, passing the ridge.

(6) Follow a small path that enters the forest and descends (the power line is visible a little higher up on your left). Follow it downhill, pass close to the resort buildings and climb back up without taking the path on the left, but continue on the ski slope that climbs and turns to your left.

(7) At the edge of the fir trees and the slope, take the path that goes slightly to the right into the fir forest. Pass two paths on your left. When you reach the road, follow it to the right for about 100 metres, then turn right onto a path that descends and joins the D68 below. Cross it and return to the car park (S/E).

A magnificent hike in the hills above Guzet-Neige with breathtaking scenery: mountainsides, forests, woodland paths... a real treat!
A beautiful climb followed by a lovely, steady descent.

We didn't meet anyone on this path.
The landscape is very beautiful.
There are one or two steep sections in the forest, so you need to be careful if you have children with you.
Fortunately, the grass had been cut along the route, except near the Soleilladoux ski lifts, so we took the yellow trail, which adds a little extra elevation.

We were bitten by ticks on these trails, so remember to check yourself thoroughly after your walk.

A condensed version of the Pyrenees in all their splendour, to be enjoyed at a leisurely pace. Take the first climbs slowly and the rest from the pass onwards is fine. Just one thing to bear in mind: to reach the first ski lift, follow the electric wire for the cows to the insulated handle 200 metres below the trail. "The current is strong." Perfect weather.

Beautiful route along balcony trails in the forest... beautiful beech forest. As for the signposting, it is absent after the Combe de Crespies at the Souleillou and Vallon Blanc chairlifts. Signposting needs updating!

Varied landscapes, pleasant hike, half in the sun on this rather warm day.
The area is pleasant.
Perhaps worth doing again on snowshoes?

We did this hike in glorious sunshine!
With two dogs, no problem whatsoever.
We had to stop between points 5 and 6 to return to the starting point due to personal circumstances, but we will come back to complete the circular route!
The view of the Cirque is splendid!
