Start: Near the Bienen-Häusle hiking hut
(S/E) The trail circles around Schramberg on the eastern edge of the central Black Forest, passing the deeply carved Lauterbach Valley and the wide high valley of the Sulzbach. It takes in striking red sandstone formations and the "Felsenmeer" (sea of rocks) near the ruins of Hohenschramberg Castle (1) and offers impressive views of pastures, Black Forest farms and small farm chapels. At 879 metres, the Mooswaldkopf (2) is the highest point of the tour. Its 25-metre-high observation tower offers views of the Vosges mountains in the west, the Swiss Alps in the south and the Swabian Alb in the east. If you want to walk the trail in two stages, you can find accommodation for the night at a good ten guesthouses along the route (S/E).
