Departure from Col de la Vierge Clarisse.
(S/E) From the car park, head towards La Chapelotte (Anneau Rouge).
(1) After walking for about 400 metres, take the path on your right marked with a green rectangle to the Grotte des Poilus.
(2) After the Grotte des Poilus, go back up the path you left earlier and turn right to reach the Croix Charpentier.
(3) At the Croix Charpentier, take the steep path that starts just opposite (marked with a yellow triangle) towards the Pierre à Cheval. Viewpoint at the top towards Pierre Percée and the lake. Follow this steep path to the next logging road.
(4) Continue to the right, following the blue crosses and the direction of Roche de la Soye
(5) Turn left and follow the signs for La Menelle, passing by La Roche de la Soye. Continue along the path, which descends steeply once more, until you reach the D182.
(6) Follow the road for 500 metres towards Celles-sur-Plaine, passing in front of the information and memorial centre on the Great War of 1914-18.
(7) At the fork with a fountain, continue right on the road marked "Rectangle Vert" (Chemin de la Menelle) towards Pierre-Percée. Leave the fountain (decorated with flowers in summer) on your left and follow the path on the right that passes above the forest house.
(8) In the village, in front of the town hall, turn left and head down towards the lake on the small road that joins the D182A.
(9) Cross the road and follow the red ring markings. This path runs alongside the lake.
(10) At a place called Les Ruines de la Xaveure, continue to the right, heading north-east, following the mountain bike trail markings (orange triangle and disc) which will take you to your starting point, the Col de la Vierge Clarisse (S/E).
. I recommend this hike, but be careful not to buy waffles at Lake Pierced Stone because they are expensive!!!!!!
