Description of the walk

Cable car ascent from Bozen (Bolzano) via the Rittner Seilbahn. Arrival at Oberbozen, the chic, countryside-style district of the regional capital. Many people use the cable car as a daily means of transport.

(S/E) With your back to the cable car arrival point, take the road on the right towards Klobenstein, also signposted as the “Sigmund Freud Promenade”. The route takes you through woodland alongside the tourist railway line.

(1) At Linzbach, turn left then right, following the signposts. Continue in the same direction to reach Lichtenstern, a small hamlet with a hotel, a holiday centre and a church. There are lovely views of the Seiseralm massif and the Rosengarten.
