Park at the Col du Pré (1,703m).
(S/E) Cross the road, then take the path on the right, which is also a botanical trail. Follow it for about 1 km until you reach a junction.
(1) Let the botanical trail go up to the left and continue along the undulating path, which now offers lovely views over the Arêches Valley. You’ll reach another junction.
(2) Leave the track and take a dirt path to the left; pass above a chalet. The path is well marked, with several sections laid out on wooden decking. After passing through some wetlands, the path becomes a track again. You’ll reach a Y-junction.
(3) Take the left-hand branch; the route now really begins to climb. Navigate a few hairpin bends along the track first, then – after a junction leading to a chalet – continue climbing along a winding path. Along the way, let a path on the right-hand side pass you by as it descends to Lac de Saint-Guérin, then reach the Passage de la Charmette.
(4) The route now continues northwards, with Mont Blanc in view. Take the track to the left and leave it shortly afterwards to follow a path on the left that runs along the ridge. The path climbs slightly at first, then descends before climbing again to reach the highest point of the route at La Roche Parstire.
(5) Begin the descent, still facing Mont Blanc, with the Roselend Dam lake visible below on the right. The earthen path may be slippery in persistently damp conditions. It gradually veers away from the ridge. Pass a cubic memorial stone, enter the forest briefly, and return to the pass car park (S/E).
