At the eastern exit of Saissac, take the D408 marked Z.A. La Bourdette. Follow it to the Cabanelles bridge, where there is a small picnic area. There is parking available all around.
(S/E) Walk down the road a little and cross the Cabanelles bridge.
(1) Immediately after the bridge, turn right and follow the canal westwards. Follow this canal for about three kilometres without risk of getting lost.
(2) At the fork, continue straight along the Rigole de la Montagne Noire until you reach three locks.
(3) You will arrive at a large ruined building, the former use of which we have been unable to determine. There are three locks in succession on the canal at this point and a small red brick humpback bridge. Cross this bridge and climb up between the trees to a path that is not very well marked. Please note that this path is not shown on maps, but it is well enough used to be clearly visible.
(4) You will come to a wider track, which you should take to the right. This is the only section where the forest is slightly less dense, but it still provides good cover. You will make a large circular loop along this track.
(5) Turn right and continue along this track until you reach the tarmac road. Turn right and follow it for about 100 metres until you reach the car park (S/E).
