La Porteille Blanche d'Andorra

A fairly long and challenging hike leading to the Porteille Blanche d'Andorre tripoint on the French-Spanish-Andorran border.

Throughout the hike, you will follow the legendary Bonshommes trail (GR®107) which runs alongside the wild Campcardos valley.

Description of the walk

Park in the small car park near the Carol River.

(S/E) From the car park, take the footbridge over the Carol River (Riu de Querol) and head west on the GR®7 and GR®107. Pass an antenna and the tarmac turns into a path. Some beautiful climbs await you before you reach a crossroads.

(1) Stay on the GR®7 and GR®107. After a few climbs, you will see the Peiraforca, which will "accompany" you during this hike. Almost two kilometres after the intersection, you will reach a refuge.

(2) Go around the refuge on the right and continue on the GR® trails. Further on, you will reach the ponds (almost dry at this time of year) and stay on the GR® trails. Cross a small stream and continue climbing until you reach a flat area. The Porteille Blanche is becoming more and more visible and lives up to its name. Climb again before reaching your destination. All that remains is a straight climb to reach the tripoint of the Porteilla Blanca d'Andorra (altitude 2,517 metres), offering magnificent views of the surrounding peaks.

(3) All that remains is to retrace your steps in the opposite direction to complete this hike (S/E).
