Pointe de Kervoyal

A short, relaxing stroll along the Morbihan coast, returning via the inland route. No difficulty apart from a bit of mud on the northern section in wet weather.

Description of the walk

(S/E) You leave Landrezac beach via the footpath, heading south-east. The sea is on your right. Follow this coastal path to the tip of the headland.

(1) You arrive at the orientation table. After taking in the stunning views, turn back along the small tarmac road until you reach a ‘no entry’ sign. Keen to follow the road rules, take the mandatory right-hand turn. You’ll come out onto the ‘Guillaume Apollinaire’ promenade. Follow it until it meets a block of flats. Turn left, moving away from the sea, then very quickly right. You’ll come to a sign pointing to “Camping de l’Oasis”.

(2) Turn right to return to the seafront. Then follow the coastal path on the left.
After quite a long while, you’ll come to wooden barriers across the path.

(3) Turn left onto the wide dirt track leading inland. Pass a junction and ignore a path coming from the right. When you reach a T-junction, turn right.

(4) About 200m further on, you’ll see a sign for “Landrezac – 1 km” on the left. Follow it. As you enter the built-up area, ignore the small road with a stop sign coming from the right.

(5) At the junction that follows very shortly afterwards, turn left onto Rue de Toul-Rann. Pass the Landrezac roundabout to return to the coast and your starting point (S/E).

Notes

The starting point for the walk is east of the village of Damgan, along the coast, at Landrezac beach. We are situated to the south-east of the Gulf of Morbihan. In summer, parking can be expensive...

The return journey inland may seem flat, straight and therefore rather monotonous... You might consider returning via the same route you took on the way there.

Worth a visit

The contrast between the south coast of the headland – eroded, rather barren and rocky – and the north coast, which is more vegetated, is interesting.
At the orientation table at the tip of the headland, you can enjoy a panoramic view (Île Dumet, the mouth of the Vilaine, etc.)

The description does not correspond to the proposed route, especially in the second part. We found ourselves on a road, unable to continue the hike... Too bad

An interesting first section along the coastal path, followed by a rather dull stretch with roads and houses.

A short, interesting walk that’s described very well. We continued this walk westwards to Pointe de Penerf, following a route that runs right alongside the beaches of Damgan on a path that’s very well maintained and safe for pedestrians

A real treat, with such varied scenery. And then there’s the little beach at Kervoyal...
