Saint-Laurent-d’Eze beach via the Chemin de Toscane

On the middle corniche, a few hundred metres from Eze village, the Chemin Toscane will take you to the magnificent beach at Saint-Laurent-d’Eze.
On the way down, you’ll enjoy panoramic views stretching from Cap Mala to the Tête de Chien de la Turbie.
The final few metres leading to this pebble beach pass through a shaded woodland, where a small stream offers a refreshing respite.

Description of the walk

On the M6007 (Moyenne Corniche), drive past Eze-Village towards Monaco.

The pavement on Avenue Georges Clemenceau is wide at this point.

Head straight down the tarmac dead-end road called Chemin de Toscane Supérieur.
At the fork in the road that appears immediately ahead, carry on straight ahead.

(2) Cross a small road with care and follow the path that continues on the other side.

(3) Cross Avenue Raymond Poincaré (also known as Basse Corniche) at the pedestrian crossing
Carry on to the left for about fifty metres.
Turn right onto the stairway leading down into the valley.
Go through the tunnel under the railway line to reach the beach.

(4) Saint-Laurent-d’Eze beach. Return via the same route.

Best done in winter or in the off-season; in summer it’s far too hot. For someone like me who knows the department’s trails well, this is a real discovery – it’s a short but very physically demanding hike on the way back, much like the Nietzsche Trail between Eze-bord-de-mer and Eze-Village.
Don’t be fooled into thinking that, just because it’s called ‘Tuscany’, the walk features rolling hills. Best regards.

Thank you so much, Alix06, for your review.

That’s exactly it – the appeal of this short walk is discovering this lovely little beach
which is lovely outside the summer season, and to get in some excellent cardiovascular exercise
Kind regards, b.

Thanks, Bernard bb, for suggesting this walk

I’d never heard of this beach before – it’s really lovely. It was deserted in winter, but apparently it gets quite crowded in summer; I suppose that’s because there’s a car park just above it.
I rated the route as ‘disappointing’ in terms of interest because the path down and back up has no charm at all. On the other hand, the climb back up is a good cardiovascular workout!
