(S/E) The walk starts from the church square in Jouy-sur-Morin
On the square, facing the steps leading up to the church gardens, turn right and walk up Rue de la Porte d’en Haut.
(1) Pass the Ruelle de la Porte d’en Haut on your left and take the small path on the left about 80 metres further on.
When you reach the end of the path, turn right onto Rue des Réservoirs, then a little further up, turn left onto Rue de la Cave – this is a gravel path.
At the very end of Rue de la Cave, turn right onto Route de Rebais and walk uphill to the old foundry, a former sheet metal building.
(2) Turn left onto the grassy path, Chemin des Clos. Follow this path and, at the end, turn left onto Rue de Voigny. Walk past the last buildings in the hamlet.
(3) Turn onto the path on the right behind the buildings. Follow it all the way to the end, passing a junction. Turn right and then immediately left onto Rue de la Croix Martine. Follow this road to Le Breuil, where you’ll find an old farmhouse converted into a guesthouse.
(4) At these buildings, take the path on the right, follow it and cross the D204 to continue opposite along the grassy path. At the end, turn left then immediately right. Pass the source of the Fontaine Janvier and continue along the path. Ignore the first path on the right and the second on the left, and you’ll come to a road. Cross this and continue along the edge of the woodland on the grassy path.
(5) When you reach the ‘La Noue de Jouy’ farm, turn right at a right angle. Continue along the path; halfway along, let a path branch off to the right. At the end, turn right and then immediately left until you reach the D402. Cross this road and take the path opposite.
(6) At the end, turn right onto Rue de Beauchien, then, after the water tower, turn left onto Rue du Gué Saint-Pierre and follow it downhill. After passing Rue de l’Orgere on your left – which you should ignore – carry straight on along the grassy path until you reach Rue Jean Navarre.
(7) Keep to the right on the tarmac section and head down to Rue du Puits de Bel Air.
(8) Head down to the right to rejoin Rue de Bel Air, which continues as Rue de la Porte d’en Haut. You’ll return to the church square (S/E).
