La Ferme d'Aubigny

(S/E) Leave the square in Nantoux by turning right (south) onto Rue de l'Ermitage. Soon ignore the path opposite and stay on the road which turns left, reaching a fork shortly afterwards near an isolated house.

(1) Leave the road that veers left and take the ^GRP® opposite until you reach a fork in the Bois de Montot. Keep left and continue climbing along the ^GRP® to reach a road shortly after leaving the woods.

(2) Ignore the road and head right towards the south. Cross the copse and immediately rejoin the path running alongside the vineyards. Further on, pass the pylons and join another path at a place called La Croix de Chazeux. Turn right into the undergrowth, ignore a path branching off to the right a short distance ahead and continue until you come to a perpendicular forest track.

(3) Turn left and keep left at the next two junctions. Continue straight on, ignoring the side paths, and further on you’ll reach the large gate of the Domaine d’Aubigny. Follow the path which curves slightly to the left and runs alongside the property until you face the entrance to the fortified farm visible below.

(4) Head to the right of the gate, then turn sharply right onto a narrower path to continue climbing alongside the fence. Carry on straight ahead through the trees heading north-west and reach a vineyard 500 m further on. Ignore the path branching off to the left and continue climbing up a wide grassy path to the top of the vineyard. Enter the copse and you will immediately come to a ladder, more or less hidden on the right

(5) Turn left, leaving the short, steep path leading to the hunting ladder on your right. Follow the path before soon turning right onto a narrower track. Carry on straight ahead at the next junction and follow the^GR®7, which will soon join a small road. Follow the road as it continues until you reach, further down, the junction with the D109 near the village of Chamilly.

(6) Do not cross or join the D109, but head right of a barrier onto a narrow path which widens and climbs above the Château de Chamilly. Ignore all the false paths branching off to the right and left and stay on this path, which, further on, will begin a right-hand bend and reach a clearly visible four-way junction.

(7) Turn left towards the north and, further on, join another path. Turn right and you will soon catch sight of the village of Nantoux as you emerge from the forest. Shortly afterwards, keep left at the fork and take a small lane not far from there, continuing along the same route. Continue straight ahead between the houses to return to the car park at the start (S/E).
