Start and finish at the lower end of the hamlet of Valotte, with its many winegrowers’ houses.
(S/E) Walk 200 m uphill towards the centre of the hamlet (GRP® yellow and red markings), then turn right and stay on Rue des Puits. At the crossroads near a cross, turn left.
(1) At the junction, with views of Santenay and other vineyards, stay on theGRP® by turning left.
(2) At the junction, with views of Les Maranges and the Dheune valley, continue along theGRP® path, heading down to the right. You’ll come to a road (with views of the Côte de Nantoux and the Chassey valley).
(3) Follow it to the left, then continue along the path. You’ll reach a junction.
(4) Follow theGRP® to the right and walk for about 3 km, along the ridge and down the hillside. Halfway along the ridge, you’ll pass an ancient Neolithic settlement. At the end, you’ll rejoin the tarmac road; carry on straight ahead to reach a junction (view of the hamlet and Chamilly Castle).
(5) Turn left towards Chassey and Bercully, and follow this road for about 2 km.
(6) After the cemetery, at the bend in the road to the right, head up to the left. You’ll come back to the junction you passed on the way out.
(4) Turn left, then immediately right onto the ridge path, and return to a junction you’ve already passed on the way there.
(2) Follow the route back in the opposite direction to return to the car park (S/E).
