Head to the exit of Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie and park in the car park near the Ker-Louis hotel.
(S/E) Walk along the pavement towards the ocean. Pass in front of Boisvinet Beach.
(1) Leave the pavement and take the small footpath on the left, which passes behind Villa Grosse Terre.
Follow the footpath, which takes you past several viewpoints:
(2) At the Feu de Grosse Terre viewpoint facing Pointe de la Grosse Terre, an elongated rock remains visible at high tide: it is called Pilours and then the Arondeau viewpoint.
Continue along the paths along the Corniche until you reach a cave called Trou du Diable.
(3) After the viewpoint, you can go down to the beach and walk along the rocks at low tide to see Trou du Diable.
Then continue along the paths to the end of the Sion cliffs.
(4) At the end of the Sion cliffs, five isolated rocks face the ocean. These are the Cinq Pineaux.
From this point onwards, the landscape changes. The cliffs give way to long sandy beaches.
Continue along the sea walls and, if you wish, at the end of the sea walls, continue along the paths into the dune area.
Continue through the dunes and turn left towards the beach at the third intersection.
You will arrive at the Blockhaus on the Grande Plage de Sion.
(5) Take the same route back and observe how the landscape changes with the rising and falling tide. This will take you back to the car park near the Ker-Louis hotel (S/E).
