On the D217, stop at the car park behind the Gresswiller barracks. There is a small picnic area with a bench.
(S/E) Take the farm track south and pass a dog training centre.
(1) Cross the bridge over the Schweinaegerbaechlein stream and continue south on the farm track on the right. It is marked with a green disc.
(2) Turn left onto the path that climbs a little more steeply and becomes a little more rough. There are beautiful views of large meadows on the right. At the end of this path, turn right and then immediately left. The path is now lined with shrubs on both sides.
(3) Don't miss the entrance to the forest on the right. It is a small path to the top of the hill. After that, the path is not clearly marked, so a GPS device is helpful, although it is difficult to get lost here! Continue the loop between the bushes and meadows. At the hunting lodge, take the path that descends to the right. You will rejoin the previous path after a few metres. Continue straight ahead down this path.
(4) Turn left and follow the housing estate to the village of Gresswiller.
(5) At the bus shelter, turn left: there are quite a few horses in the meadows here, as well as tanks in the barracks. Return to the bridge you crossed on the way out.
(1) Turn right and follow the same route as on the way there to reach the car park (S/E).
very good hike, we enjoyed it
