Park near the Piégros sheepfold.
(S/E) Take the grassy path beneath the cross. Begin a long climb through meadows and woodland, ignoring all paths branching off to the right or left. You’ll emerge onto a tarmac road and quickly reach the Chapel of Notre-Dame du Bon Secours on your left.
(1) Ignore the two private tracks on the left and take a narrow path to the right of the gate. Climb up through the meadow and then through the woodland, soon joining a forest track.
Take this track to the left and continue straight up, ignoring the paths branching off to the right and left. After a sharp bend to the right, carry on to the ruins of the old monastery, marked by a signpost.
(2) Turn left to reach the Chapel of Saint-Médard. Take a moment here to enjoy the magnificent view over the syncline.
(3) Return to the previous crossroads.
(2) Take the path on the left which winds down along the ridge to Pas Court.
(4) Head off to the right towards the Pas Saint-Michel. Atthe first junction, turn left, then ignore a path leading down to the right. At the hairpin bend, turn left and climb up to the Pas Saint-Michel. Here, switch to the other side of the slope to descend and reach the Pas de Faucon.
(5) Descend the northern slope via a narrow, winding path that is very steep; take care in wet weather. Continue until you reach a stony track. After a sharp bend to the left, take the track on the right to reach Blache Ronde.
(6) Take the tarmac road on the left and head down to the Bourbousson farm. Below the farm, continue along the tarmac track to the right towards the castle to return to the car park at the Piegros sheepfold (S/E)
some sections are very tricky: steep slopes with stones and roots, so there is a risk of falling!
