Description of the walk

From Pontoise, take the D915 then the D79 towards Livilliers. Park near the church and the town hall.

(S/E) From the car park, leave the town hall on your right and continue straight on. Ignore the first three junctions and pass under a copse for a very short while. You will reach a junction at the second copse (Bois Lapin).

(1) Continue straight on, skirting the copses; ignore the junction on the left (GR®1) and continue along the path until you come out onto the road at a cross.

(2) Turn left onto the tarmac road. Quickly ignore a track on the right to reach a junction.

(3) Turn left into Ruelle Yvaan. Keep right at each junction until you reach Rue Saint-Didier.

(4) Turn left and leave Rue de l’Église on your right to reach Ruelle de la Vanne.

(5) Follow this path, ignoring the first path on the left. Continue straight on until you reach the main road.

(6) Keep left and continue along the path (the D22 is on the right) towards the hamlet of Gérocourt. Cross the hamlet, continue straight on and stay on the path, ignoring two junctions before crossing a stream at Fond de l’Arche. Shortly afterwards, turn left and follow the path to the end.

(7) Turn right and continue straight on until you reach a gate.

(8) At the junction, turn left, cross the D79, then turn left towards Génicourt cemetery. Leave it on your left and continue along the path to the T-junction.

(9) Turn right to reach another junction.

(10) Turn left. Ignore the first path on the left, head down towards the Ravin de la Vallée and cross the first junction.

(11) At the next junction, turn left (GR®1), continue along the edge of the Bois Dame Jeanne on your right and head towards Livilliers. At the end of the path, continue straight on along the A-road to reach the church and the town hall (S/E).

I ticked 'no' simply because there wasn't an option for 'I don't know'

If you’ve parked in the town hall car park, turn right between the town hall and the church onto the school path.
At point 1, the path turns right and runs alongside the woods; be careful to spot the path that branches off to the left – the GR and PR markings are not visible from the path.
At point 3, it says to turn left onto Ruelle Yvaan; this is actually a path or track rather than a lane.
In Génicourt, I followed the PR to cross the village.

The route was very pleasant, particularly as it took us through fields and woods. The word ‘splendid’ used to describe the buildings is perhaps a bit of an exaggeration, but the route was well worth the trip. And we were pleasantly surprised to find that, despite all the rain we’ve had recently, the path was muddy but still passable.

To see the villages, you’ll need to stray (slightly) from the marked route.
