Description of the walk

Park at the timber loading area alongside the D647.

(S/E) Take the forest track at the far end of the area, heading south-west, then turn south towards a junction of tracks.

(1) At the junction of the forest track and a path, leave the forest track and take the path on the right, which descends into the forest and joins a road leading towards Montestudier.

(2) Follow it to the right until you reach the hamlet.

(3) At the entrance to the hamlet, turn right onto the woodland path towards the hamlet of Le Mas.

(4) Walk through the hamlet of Le Mas and join the D647.

(5) Cross it carefully and continue straight ahead on the Route de la Grande Côte towards Le Monthiol, passing the two houses.

(6) Take the path on the right that leads into the forest; stay on the main path and do not take the paths branching off to the left or right at the start of the forest. Continue until you reach the D647.

(7) Follow it to the right to reach the loading area (S/E).

An easy walk, mostly through the forest, best undertaken with good walking shoes and an IGN map.

The timber loading area is quite large, but please park carefully so as not to obstruct any timber lorries.
