From Bayonne, head towards Cambo - Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port. At the entrance to Ossès, take the D8 towards Irissarry. Park in the centre of the village or behind the church (small car park).
(S/E) Retrace your steps and, after the restaurant, take the street on the right for 1.2 km. Pass to the right of a football pitch. At the next intersection, take the road on the left, then the next on the right until you reach the end of the road at Andresenea.
(1) A wide, shaded path continues straight ahead to the north. The slope becomes steeper. Go around a small peak (403 m) on the left. Continue along this well-marked path, which eventually leaves the woods.
(2) At 440 m, the path branches off completely to the right and becomes earthy. The slope becomes steeper, reaching a plateau at 550 m.
(3) The slope levels out and you reach a fork.
(4) Ignore the path that branches off to the left and take the one on the right until you reach another fork.
(5) Take the path on the right and head towards a corridor.
(6) Magnificent view of Haltzamendi in the foreground and the Baigura ridges with their antennae in the background. A clearly visible path winds down slightly to the left to reach an unnamed pass at an altitude of 664 m with a signpost for Haltzamendi.
(7) Follow the balcony path that leads just above a pass at an altitude of 712 m (sign indicating the summit).
(8) Follow the grassy path that climbs to the summit of Haltzamendi.
(9) Magnificent viewpoint. After a good break, return via the same route to the village of Ossès (S/E).
