Description of the walk

Starting point: Etang du Corra car park on the edge of the N184.

Coming from Saint-Germain-en-Laye, just before the interchange and the bridge over the Seine, take the right-hand lane to enter the forest where you will find two car parks by the pond. Park in the first car park on the left as you enter.

Coming from Conflans-Sainte-Honorine, cross the Seine and, just after the interchange, get into the left-hand lane, which will take you to the same entrance after carefully crossing the national road. At the entrance, park immediately in the first car park on the left.

Red and yellow GRP® markings

(S/E) From the car park, go around the lake on the left and walk along a small beach. Stay as close as possible to the lake on your right and continue straight ahead to its north-eastern tip. Then turn sharply to the right and head for the south-eastern tip at the Route du Corra.

(1) Leave the edge of the pond and follow Route du Corra to the left for about 100 metres.

(2) At Étoile Sainte-Honorine, take the second path on the right. Go straight up (south) to Étoile du Renard.

End of signposting

(3) Take the second road on the left, Route d'Andrésy. Follow this road for about 1.2 km and go straight ahead at each junction. This will take you to a large roundabout with the Pavillon de la Muette in the middle.

GRP® red and yellow markings

(4) Go around the Pavillon de la Muette, built in 1767 and renovated in 2024, on the right. Pass in front of the main gate and continue around the pavilion.

End of markings

Leave the GRP® on your right and continue for about 50 metres around the roundabout.

(5) Then turn right (north-northeast) onto Route de la Muette. Continue straight ahead until you reach Étoile Dauphine.

(6) Turn left (west-northwest) onto Route du Corra. Continue straight ahead until you reach Étoile Sainte-Honorine, which you passed at the start of the hike.

(2) Continue straight ahead for about 100 metres.

(1) Continue straight ahead on a wide path and walk along the pond on your right. Ignore all the paths on the left. Pass a car park on your left and continue along the pond. This will take you to the car park (S/E).

Flat, relatively short route (7km, 2 hours), fairly wide paths, entirely in the forest.
The only downside is that there are lots (too many) of bikes – we were there on a Saturday – and they don't bother to use their bells (when they have them). There is a significant risk of accidents.
If you do this route at the weekend, I recommend doing it in the opposite direction to that suggested by Visorando, as you'll be more likely to have the bikes in front of you rather than behind you.
Another point I noticed is that the view of the lake is more interesting between points S/E and 1 than between 2 and S/E, especially in the morning when the sun is shining.
Enjoy your walk!
