The walk starts from the car park at Domaine de la Dombes.
(S/E) With your back to the car park, turn left towards Étang Neuf. Follow the road for about 400 m until you reach the junction with the C6.
(1) Continue straight ahead. On your left is the Étang Neuf with a beautiful view. Cross the main road with caution and continue straight ahead on the C4, following the Étang des Léchères.
(2) At the La Léchère signpost, turn right towards Saint-Paul-de-Varax. At the next junction, turn right onto Chemin de Migeleine and follow the road through a small wood. At the end of the wood, there is a pond on the right. Continue to Croix de la Sablonnière.
(3) At the La Sablonnière signpost, turn left onto Route des Étangs towards Paul-de-Varax and continue straight on to the village centre with its church.
(4) At the Saint-Paul-de-Varax signpost, go around the church and turn into Impasse de la Maternelle, then Rue du Vieux Jonc on the right. Leave Rue du Vieux Jonc and take the path across the green space. At the end, take Rue des Frères Lumières on the left and you will reach the edge of a wood.
(5) When you reach the edge of the woods, take the small path on the right (Ancien Chemin de Saint-Nizier) and continue straight ahead for about 1 km. You will come to a small road (Chemin de Vacquant).
(6) Turn left and follow the road. On the right is a pond. A little further on, the road passes a typical farm and reaches the crossroads you passed earlier.
(1) Turn left and return to the Domaine de la Dombes car park (S/E).
