Park at the Planchettes car park (altitude 624) on the D71 at the junction of the Route de Château Rocher and Étang de Revel.
(S/E) Cross the road to find a marked path called Libellules heading south, which descends for 1 km. At the junction with a wide track, turn left for 10 m, then descend to the right to reach the Tourbière des Planchettes.
(1) Cross it on a wooden pontoon, climb up the other bank and turn right towards the south for about 200m. Climb up on the left via a path marked with a yellow line, which heads north-east then east. Cross the tarmaced local road at an elevation of 628 metres and arrive at the Étang de Bressieux (private and enclosed). Herons can be seen here.
(2) Go around it on a path to the south, then, at its north-eastern bend, continue on the path to the east until you reach the dyke of the Étang des Essarts, a communal pond with free access: ducks.
(3) Walk around it to the south and east to reach the road leading from Château Rocher Nature Park.
(4) Turn left.
(5) Keep left, continuing to follow the road until you reach a crossroads.
(6) Turn right and head straight for the car park (S/E).
