Park in the car park opposite the tourist office and the church in Sappey-en-Chartreuse.

(S/E) From the car park, opposite the church, take the road on the left (D512) which goes uphill. After 100 metres, look for the Sappey signpost (oratory) on the left.
Turn left onto Chemin de l'Oie, ignore the two paths on the right and follow the sign for Calvaire des Beauches at the crossroads.
(1) Continue straight ahead on the road towards L'Ecoutoux, ignoring the roads on the left and right. Follow the Marais des Sagnes on your left, take a sharp left turn and pass the last chalet.
Leave the road and take the path that climbs steeply to the right. You will come to a flatter section at the first chalets in Bens. Continue on the path on the right, which goes around the hamlet and arrives at the Bens signpost.
(2) Ignore the paths on the left and right and continue straight ahead towards L'Ecoutoux. Very soon, leave a path on the left and follow the edge of the forest until you reach the Col de Bens signpost.
(3) Turn left and enter the forest. Leave the next path that descends to the left (not shown on the map) and continue climbing.
About 300m higher up, cut across a path (the right-hand track is not shown on the map) and continue climbing, with some steep sections.
Descend to a small pass and begin the final climb to the summit of Ecoutoux. Enjoy the beautiful views of the Belledonne massif, Chamechaude and Dent de Crolles.
(4) Descend via the same route, passing through the Col de Bens.
(3) Continue until you reach the Bens signpost.
(2) Turn left towards Col de Palaquit, follow the path that leads into the meadow and then into the forest. After about 100 metres in the woods, leave the path and turn right onto a smaller track.
Pass a small peak and descend to join a path. Follow it to the right for a few metres to reach the D512.
Go up to the left on the road and, at the end of the bend, join the Col de Palaquit signpost on the right.
(5) Take the path on the right that climbs back into the forest towards Appanon. About 150m higher up, leave the path and turn right onto a trail (crossing not marked on the map). Continue until you find the Appanon sign at the foot of a short descent.

(6) Go down to the right on the track towards the reservoir. Pass the signpost of the same name, leave the path on the left and continue straight down the path towards Sappey Eglise.
When you reach the gate of a property, leave the path that branches off to the left just after it and continue straight ahead until you reach the D512.
Follow the road to the left for 100 metres and take the first path down to the right. Leave all the paths that branch off to the left and return to the Calvaire de Beauches crossroads.
(1) Turn left and follow the same route as on the way there to return to the car park (S/E).
